What is coming soon?
Video conferencing tools continue to grow in popularity for many organisations globally, as the hybrid work environment becomes more sustainable. The rise of virtual meetings also presents a need for an extra layer of security.
Soon, Microsoft Teams meeting organisers will be able to lock their meetings, to prevent uninvited guests from attempting to join. Any uninvited users attempting to join a locked meeting, from a desktop, mobile or web device, will not be able to do so. A pop-up message will appear informing the user that the meeting is locked and they don’t have access.
What are the benefits?
This new security feature is designed to ensure your meetings are only accessible to those who were specifically invited. For example, this means that any unwanted outsiders who may have managed to gain access to a meeting link, are blocked from joining and participating in meetings. This way, only the intended participants have access to the meeting and you can connect securely.
